Five years ago, I suffered a devastating and debilitating injury to my lower back. Although I really never worked out, I use to dance salsa a couple times a week. Believe it or not, dancing was enough to keep me in decent shape and maintain my ideal weight. With walking being an issue, dancing was definitely out of the question. Over time, I had managed to gain 35 pounds.
Over the past 2 years, I was able to lose 20 pounds (about 10 pounds per year) and I have managed to keep it off. Dancing salsa more than once or twice a month is out of the question these days. However, there are so many other ways I found not only to lose the weight, but to keep it off without the intense cardio workouts.
I have also been able to alleviate most of my pain with natural remedies and modalities. I still have limitation, however, they are nothing compared to where I was just a few years ago.
With summer right around the corner, it is now time to step it up a notch and lose my last 10 pounds of unwanted fat. As that big 40 creeps up on me this year, I fully intend to be in the best health and shape I have ever been by October!
With that said, if you have health, fitness and/or weight goals, I encourage you to join me in my journey to total health and wellness. We all need motivation to reach our goals. I know I do.
